Mike Vail is Senior Advisor with NAC. Mike began his career as the director of facilities planning for the Capistrano Unified School District, and later in his career, managed Santa Ana Unified School District’s construction program. During Mike’s service at Vista Unified and Santa Ana Unified, both districts’ voters approved local bond measures for the first time since the 1970s. Mike is a past state chair of C.A.S.H. and he also chaired the statewide campaign in support of Proposition 75, an $800 million bond measure which received a 65% ‘yes’ vote—the largest support for a school bond in the history of California. He was also the first president of Californians for School Facilities (CSF), a statewide lobbying organization which advocates for federal school facility financing assistance.
